About Us
Founded by David Battisto
Canine Companions is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for seniors and disabled individuals through our canine adoption program. Our program is designed to benifit both the human and canine aspects of the relationship. Our program also increases community interaction between our perticipants, high school and college students, and other citizens who would like to become involved in the community.
The primary key to our sucess is the care we take in the selection of our canididtes. Our carefull screening prosess helps us to ensure our companions are relocating to helthy and loving enviroments.
The other key to our success is our volunteers. The focus of our volunteer team is to provide overwelming attention, affection, and praise to our companions to strangthen their trust and love for people before placement. It is imperative that our companions are well socialized and well behaved prior to arriving at their forever home.
The Canine Companions Diffrence.
Often the burden of training and the expense of ownership can prohibit an individual from the joy and health benifits that owning a canine can provide. It is our goal to over come these hurdles and facilitate many loving and life fulfilling relationships.
Our companion animals are obedience trained, potty trained, kennel/crate trained, and leash trained.
Our companion animals are taught basic commands such as sit, stay, come, and down.
Adopting parents are also required to attend obedience classes with their future companion.
